Join East Cooper Meals on Wheels for its fifth annual Oyster Roast presented by Crews Subaru. Oysters in the Outback is a family-friendly event with plenty of oysters, barbecue and live music. The event is 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21 at Palmetto Islands County Park in Mount Pleasant. Tickets are $35 for adults, $20 for everything but oysters and $10 for children. Guests will be required to pay the park admission fee ($2 per person; free for Gold Pass members and children 2 and under).
In November 2017, Crews Subaru of Charleston presented East Cooper Meals on Wheels with a 2018 Subaru Outback as part of Subaru America’s 50th Anniversary celebration. East Cooper Meals on Wheels was one of 50 Meals on Wheels organizations (only one in SC) to win a car. The vehicle will be on display at Oysters in the Outback
Guests will enjoy live music from Sayer McShane while shucking oysters provided by The Noisy Oyster. Local chefs and organizations also will compete for top prize in the barbecue competition. Hot dogs, beer, wine and soft drinks are also included in the ticket price.
