Local Bar has been a North Carolina landmark since the building originally opened as a gas station in the 1930’s on a small country road in Apex. Over the years the gas pumps turned to beer taps, the small country road into US 64 and what had been The Little Bar for most of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s became Local Bar. We are still a place where locals gather for good times, cold drinks and live music. So stop by ’cause here everyone’s a local.

Compass Rose Brewery opened its doors in North Raleigh in 2015. We are a 10 BBL brewery offering a rotating selection of our own craft beers along with guest beers from other local breweries. Our inspirations come from many sources including the extraordinary beauty of North Carolina, the many local cultures, traveling the world and appreciating their contributions to the brewing industry, input from our friends and customers and creativity in developing unique recipes that appeal to a wide variety of beer connoisseurs.
