     Sayer McShane is an exciting band that hails from Detroit, Michigan. The group is comprised of Kristin Sayer and Carolyn McShane. Nominated for several Detroit Music Awards, their shows are a fantastic blend of seasoned showmanship and pure, genuine musicianship. They capture a danceable, Motown/Beach feel that is richly steeped in the blues. Catch one Sayer McShane show and you'll definitely agree with their slogan, "hearing is believing".
     The group has performed in Austin, Chicago, Cleveland, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, San Francisco and Windsor, Canada. Word is getting out about "the girls" all over North Carolina through promotion of their shows on their web site, sayermcshane.com. They have played everywhere from Lake Lure, Wilmington, Goldsboro and Greenville to numerous venues in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area. The two have opened for everyone from Buddy Guy to Robin Trower and are truly poised for national acclaim of their own.
     Sayer McShane has played events all across the Michigan area including International Blues Festivals in both Novi, Michigan and Windsor, Canada, The Michigan State Fair, The Fostoria, Ohio Glass Festival, The Pontiac Arts, Beats and Eats Festival, The Pontiac Cool Nights Festival, The Motor City Dream Cruise, Muskegon Summerfest, Southfield Eat To The Beat Summer Series, Huntington Woods Summer Series, Wayne Goudy Park Summer Series, The Fenton, Novi, Oxford and South Lyon Oktoberfests, The Ann Arbor Art Fair and The Ypsilanti Heritage Festival.

     Sayer McShane is currently touring in support of their new cd featuring the singles, You Got Me and Just A Woman. The latter track was recently featured on the Jenny Jones Show and has been selling many copies at their shows and by word of mouth. They also have a Christmas cd that contains timeless favorites like I'll Be Home For Christmas as well as putting a fun spin on songs like Little Drummer Boy (Funky Drummer Girl). Their live shows combine their spirited, genre-mixing originals with an endless wealth of covers that are always timeless, universal crowd pleasers.

     Kristin Sayer is the group's lead singer and lead guitarist. She is also the co-songwriter, producer and arranger and has been performing publicly since the age of thirteen. Vocally she delivers the sultry, soulful feel of Bonnie Raitt with the passion and grit of Janis Joplin. Musically, she's a self-taught multi-instrumentalist with a penchant for the guitar that crystalizes the band's signature sound with a funky, behind-the-beat style, always bluesy and grooving. She also plays bass, drums, tenor sax, clarinet, keyboards and sings harmony. Kristin was signed to Warner Brothers Records and has since gone on to release material on the independent label Lush Budgett Records. She has been featured on PBS' Homepage, several Detroit cable shows and received airplay on many Midwest radio stations.

     Carolyn McShane is the group's funky drummer and keyboardist. “M C Shane” is also the co-songwriter, studio engineer and backing vocalist who's been performing publicly since her teens as well. Her drums are a perfect compliment to Kristin's guitar whether it's blues boogie woogie or Boogie Oogie Oogie. Her drumming approach is equal parts slinky sophistication and heavy, pocket backbeat. Her harmonies really cap off what sets this group apart whether it's a lush ballad, bluesy rock or a slamming soul classic. Notably, she graduated with honors from The Recording Workshop, an audio engineering school in Chillicothe, Ohio. As a result, Carolyn runs live sound and records the duo on the Pro Tools TDM platform, the industry standard in music today.
